Simple Sunday - Waterpark

~ thankful for the fun-packed Mommy/Josiah date this afternoon at Massanutten Waterpark...incredible!!!...as we reluctantly left the waterpark, I teased Josiah by asking, "Is it next year yet? Are you 7 yet?"...I can hardly wait until we go back...maybe mommy/son dates should be monthly, not yearly ;)
~ the Keep Your Blog Honest Resolution of 2008 requires me to reveal that this picture is from Jeff and Josiah's trip with our church to the waterpark at the beginning of the summer, not from today...but the slide looks the same, and the boy looks almost the same :)

I'm so glad you and Josiah had a sweet day. After everything you've been through...it was brave to get right back up and try swimming again.

I think mother/son dates should be monthly – that's my vote. (just in case you're conducting a random poll.);-)

Glad you had fun! I love spending time alone with each of my children. Monthly dates sound good to me too :)

I visited my first waterpark last year at Disney World's Blizzard Beach. I thought I would dislike it ... BUT, I LOVED IT! It sounds like you and Josiah had a great time. (Pssst ... you won't regret having a Mommy/Josiah day every month, as well as Mommy/David and Mommy/Tobin days. Go on ... I encourage you -- these days fly too quickly. Enjoy!)

Thanks for such a delightful post. I always love to see what's happening on Sylvan Lane. : )

Souds like you two had lots of fun! I haven't been to a water park in at least 13 years, but the last time I did go, it was a blast!
Great new family photo BTW.

Looks like heaps of fun. We have a waterpark just around the corner and Boo always asks wistfully "when can I go?" We think it will have to wait until he is at least 5, as some as the rides are quite scary. I can't wait!

What a wonderful photo (even if it was from another day!). Fun date! Thank you for sharing, too, about the pool incident...it is good to remember how much God really is in charge of everything.

Hmmm...I might have to figure out the date thing with our children. How old should they be when you start? I already try to spend some individual time with each of them every day, but it is just doing fun things at our house.

Sally, I started having a special date with Josiah when he was 3 years old; and now that David is 3, I want to begin the tradition with him as well. Like you, I always get a lot of time with my children since I'm at home with them. But I find it extremely refreshing to plan a special, more extensive "date" with them individually...and they seem to like it, too! :) I only do such a big one once a year because of finances, but in between, of course, are lots of other fun things together. Anyway, we don't follow a set-in-stone rule about the age it begins, but 3 years seems to be what's working best for us.
