I got to overrule this time...they wanted colored lights but I told them it was my turn this year! I got my wish of white lights. I am so excited! And I do have to say the tree ornaments look so much better with white lights. I guess next year I'll have to compromise again and let them have their colored lights.
They just don't understand classy Christmas decorating, do they? I might not even get a tree again this year. My oldest son complained that if "we" put up decorations, then "we" just have to take them back down again. What's this "we" stuff? I don't ever remember having unwilling help.
I am a colored girl here...as much as I "know" white lights are classier looking. I can't bring myself to pretend that's me. I tease my sister that when you drive into her neighborhood there is a sign reading "You are now entering a white light community." My street...definitely colors.
And I think it's because it's what I had growing up. The colors seem warmer to me. Not as "cool" and formal. More homey?
But the prelit tree that we have has both white AND colored lights and you can choose with the flick of the remote control what you want. I choose both and love it.
Up the stairs...colored lights. Around my mirror...colored lights. On my artificial tree with a hodgepodge of decorations...colored and white.
DEFINITELY a white lights person! Although, I DO have a colored tree in my room... but I still prefer the white lights for normal big Christmas tree in the living room :)
Your Christmas blog 'look' is lovely -- very festive and bright. I'm also one for the white lights -- but we compromised and got flashing white lights which play Christmas tunes if you choose. So Boo has plenty to keep him occupied, and I can have just my white lights when I'm alone.

I'm with the boys:) We always had colored lights when I was little (but we don't even put up a tree now due to lack of space..oh well)

I thought I was a white fan, but then I got my own tree set up with white lights--and discovered that I was missing my mom's colors.
Sometimes you just can't win for losing!

I think both of your trees are beautiful!

Oh, and by the way, I love your background :)

I am a white-lights kind of girl too. I always liked the color lights when I was a little girl. I like your new Christmas look on the blog.
Have a blessed day!
