The Shavs in December of 2010

Some traditions start by accident.  Some begin with intentional thought.  And some?  Well, they start with an action that is just too cute not to do again; and thus is born a tradition!

Case in point:  a yearly picture of Shav the Boy and Shav the Bear together.  This was the first installment of the Shavs, taken way back on January 2 of this year and originally posted here:
I remember thinking, as I snapped that photo, "I sure hope Shav doesn't pitch himself forward and fall out of that chair!"  So much changes in {almost} a year.

Here is what this darling pair looked like today, 11 months after the first photo:

Such delectable sweetness!

May this series featuring The Shavs continue for many, many years!  :)

Aww that is one precious photo. Actually - wait a minute - it's the *boy* that's precious - not the photo! I can see how this would become a tradition...keep it up, I say. Absolutely gorgeous. x

Poor Shav...in about 15 years ;) Just kidding. I think it is a precious tradition. The fourth child doesn't always get something just his own, and this tradition could be one of those special things. PLUS I can see a lot of creativity in the pictures as he grows older. So sweet.

Julie,

I think you're right...Shav will come home for Christmas when he's about 27, and I'll shove this teddy bear in his arms and say, "OK, dear, it's time to take your picture!" I'm sure he'll be thrilled. ;-) I can just see him roll his eyes and say, "Moooommmm!" :)

I think he'll still love to pose for it when he's 27! :0)
