~ thankful for raindrops on roses...and the color pink ~
My dad asked a good question: why Simple Sundays? The reason I started doing this--and plan to continue--is because I like to post something on Sunday, but don't like to spend much time away from family doing it. The idea popped in my head that I could choose one picture from the week, one small thing that brought me joy and for which I give thanks, and share that. I think it will be interesting to look back over a year of Sundays and remember these things in this gratitude journal of sorts that reflects the changing seasons of the year and of my life.

I like that idea Davene! I love this picture!!! I will be checking in on Sundays now!!
I think that's a lovely idea! I love checking in on your blog posts!
I like that idea a lot. I am already learning that the weekends need to be protected for family, since blogging is so addictive! :)

Very pretty rose. Is this from your garden?
Great idea....I may just have to be a copy cat :).....hey if you do the mr linky thing like others do I would definitely sign up for the "simple Sunday Post"
I love the picture too!! Do you have a rose garden?
Like everyone else, it seems, I love this idea because it helps keep Sunday's focus on God and our families. In the long run, I have high hopes of keeping the Sabbath, but am, in the short run, wondering how it looks. Seeing your Sunday simplicity seems appropriate and right. I have neglected to mention, I think, that I love your current header. It's inspiring and lovely.
Jaedan's Mom--yes, this rose is from one of my flowerbeds. It was planted and lovingly tended by my mother, and is hardy enough to survive the neglect I'm imposing on it. One of these days (months? years?) I'm actually going to pay attention to my flowerbeds!
Mamajil--you can definitely be a copycat...and the Mr. Linky thing would be fun, if only I knew how to do that...but alas, I don't have a clue! ;) Maybe, just maybe, between now and Sunday, I'll try to figure out how to do that. We shall see...
I'm glad things work out for simple Sundays for you. My simplicity is that I don't do any cooking. (We eat left-overs or I put a casserole in the oven on timed-oven.) Otherwise, we are so involved with serving at our church, and with our young children, that Sundays are my busiest, most tiring, hardest-working day of the week. It became that way as soon as Paul was born. I know that when our children are grown, it will look different again. The things we do to help out folks at our church are things we want to do, so I don't regret it. We (Paul, Hannah, & I) rest up around here on Mondays.
What a beautiful picture. I love the raindrops. I have dreams about rain!!! LOL. I miss it, having moved from NW Washington. Hope you're having a great week!
