My Baby Is ONE!

So hard to believe that...
...it's been a year since this sweet boy began life on the outside.

So easy to love...
...and adore him.

Happy 1st birthday, darling Shavi. You are a precious gift from God!

Old pictures of him on this chair with this tiger are here.

It's so hard to think that a year has already passed since Shav was born. I know he has been a blessing, and I also know it's a blessing that the first (and I think hardest) year is behind you both.

I was just catching up on your Manna blog (yes, I was behind!), and I wanted to comment on your July 13th post, "Left to Himself". Yes, those times can be hard, when to put what first. One of the best things for me is to just get started on whatever I think I need to be alone to do, and usually my kids do amazingly well, and it all works out better than I thought. Even blogging, or FaceBook. They either like to look at the pictures as I read, or else they just play on the floor close by. Or gardening, or cooking, or cleaning, or sewing. Yeah, it all might take 3 times as long, but they have a blast, and we do get it done (eventually!). So, a lot of times it's not so much whose agenda gets put first, but we just do nearly everything together. (Yes, doing Bible story, "school", reading "Green Eggs and Ham" etc., is not furthering any of my cooking or hobbies, so that would be their time to be first.

I'm not disagreeing with the author. I'm just observing that right now in my own life (when my youngest is over 2 y.o.), the distinctions between time for me and time for my children is blurred or, often, non-existent.

I hope you all are having a great vacation, by the way.

1 already?! That means my little one will soon be 1, and I am in denial about that. :)

Happy Birthday Shav!
