You Might Be a Mother of Boys If... (Part Two)

...while doing laundry, you discover small pieces of broken stick in the pocket of your son's shorts...
...and you KNOW that, if you throw them away, you'll be reprimanded for depriving some poor soldier of his needed ammunition.
These are not sticks, after all, but bullets. Any mother of boys could tell you that.

Oh! I am learning something. We haven't gotten that far yet. So far, Paul's sticks are big ones he drags around the yard and says he is mowing. Besides, Hannah has an influence on him. Paul is very well trained and experienced in feeding baby dolls!

Well Duh Mom! :) It is fun to see all things through the eyes of little boys. They have opened me up to a whole new world! While I prefer to stay on the sidewalk and stop and smell the flowers, I have learned with them it is all about getting down and dirty and not standing in one place for too long!

I constantly have to remind the four and five year~old boys in my pre~K class that they're not permitted to make guns with their legos, connecting cubes, etc. Often, I see them with stick~like formations making "pshhoo pshoo" sounds, and I say, "Remember, we don't make or play with guns."
"They're not guns!" they answer. "They're LIGHT SABERS!"

...yeah.

And I might add, that the little girls are just as skilled in finding "barbaric" uses for the sticks and playground mulch as the boys. ;-)

Just a postscript for my own memory's sake: I had taken the sticks into the kitchen and put them on the table for Josiah. When he came in, he spotted them, scooped them up, and exclaimed, "Hey, here's my ammo!!" :)
