In this case, he noticed that David was building a design with dominos, so Tobin eagerly took upon himself the job of handing them to him. I loved how David would say, "Thank you!" and how Tobin vocalized as well, as if to say, "You're welcome, dear brother." :)

Oh! Davene! This is so wonderful! They are sharing, they are not fighting, and Tobin is so happy to give David the pieces! How did you train them? Paul would be having a fit that he didn't have ALL the pieces, and Hannah would be trying to eat them, and we would be having a nuclear melt-down in this scene. I am trying hard to teach Paul how to share, and it rarely works without weeping and wailing on his part, lasting until Hannah is disinterested in the toy(s), and then Paul goes to get it (them) and is happy again. Not true sharing in my opinion!
That was precious! I love how they got along and were so sweet with eachother.
Like your other commenter said, my kids would have been fighting over the dominoes. The little one would have been crashing into the older ones masterpiece... you know the complete opposite of playing nice and sharing.
Great little video. Thanks for sharing. :)
Sally & Valerie,
I'm sure you both know well that we have our moments of sibling fights! I did have to remind David, when he started building his masterpiece, that he should do it further away from Tobin so that Tobin couldn't reach it. It helps that Tobin isn't completely mobile yet, so Josiah and David haven't had him totally destroy their creations yet. For now, he's usually content to sit and watch them play with whatever they've got; but I know that will change as he starts to crawl and walk. I'm not sure what we'll do then. :)
I think, however, that the idea of them all having some personal space that is "protected" from the others is important. Our afternoon quiet times when, for example, Josiah gets to play with the Legos all by himself are a crucial part of this.
Anyway, we'll see as we go along! But for today, I loved seeing this interaction between two of my little sweethearts. :)
This is so sweet! I love how when Tobin picks up one of the pieces and looks at it (towards the end), that David gives him a minute instead of taking it from him.
Sweet boys!
Wow, this is so neat. I enjoyed seeing the boys in action, and hearing your voice, too! You've captured a great little memory, here.
