My Sister

We've been so glad to have my sister visiting with us from Charleston, West Virginia; she's spending the weekend here before soon moving to Texas...so we're savoring the moments together. Josiah and David LOVE their Aunt Donna!

Tonight we had a family dinner which was so much fun and so delicious. In the picture, from left to right, is my nephew Jason, my sister, her grandson Christian with a funny grin, and my niece Sheena (Christian's mom). Now really, does my sister look old enough to be a grandma??? :)

Goodness, does that make you a great Aunt? I hope you encourage Christian to call you that!
You are very lucky to have such an extensive and loving family. Enjoy them every moment you can!

Oh dear, I guess that DOES make me a great aunt! Hmmm...hadn't thought of that.

Aren't great aunts supposed to be old--with lots of wrinkles and gray hair??? :)

Oh my WORD! No, she definitely does NOT look old enough to be a grandma. I hope I age like that!
Hmmm... I always just assumed you were an only child.

New Mom, that's funny that you thought I was an only child! :) I guess because none of my siblings lives in this area, I don't post as many pics or stories about them. There are actually 4 of us children in my family, and I'm the youngest.

I love having siblings, and have always wanted to have 4 children because it just seems so normal--not even big--to me!

Davene, don't feel bad. I'm actually a great aunt too! My great niece is 5 years old and I have actually been an aunt since before I was born. I have a niece who is 24 and I am 22 :)

Yep, we need to see more pics of you and your family. I think I always assumed about the only child thing because you and your parents spend so much time together and you've never mentioned your sibling being with you at their/your house. (Like when you go to church, or they come over for Friday night fellowship, or when you go to the county fair.) Are all of your sibs scattered?

Yep, we're all scattered. My sister lives in West Virginia but is moving to Texas. One of my brothers lives in Florida, and the other brother lives in Pennsylvania. The fact that none of my other siblings lives in this area to be here for my parents as they get older was one of the main reasons we decided to move here...well, that and the fact that we just love it here! :)

It would be nice though to have siblings who lived closer...oh, well, for now this is where we're all at!
