Through Jeff's Eyes, Part Two

More pictures from Jeff's drive in the countryside this morning. Here are some of the four-footed creatures the boys saw...
~ fortunate horse with grassy pasture and pond and willow tree
~ I think cows are beautiful - I love their faces and big dark eyes - I've always thought my sister had eyes like a cow, and that has always been a very high compliment coming from my lips!!!
~ Josiah was the first one to spot this deer

What a lovely series of posts! I did so enjoy looking at the countryside near your home -- it is beautiful (and reminiscent of where we live). Is it dairy country around you? Does your family still farm for a living, or do you simply enjoy the countryside?

Thanks, Morning! It is dairy country around us...as well as poultry country. Supposedly, we're the "turkey capital of the world." I'm not sure who decides that though. :) But there are lots of fairly small farms around here...not like the huge farms of the Midwest or the huge ranches of the West.

My maternal grandparents were farmers in Pennsylvania, so I guess farming and country life is in my blood. But we (my parents or us) have never farmed for a living. We just enjoy the fruits of other's labors...and the great views that come as we drive through the countryside. Plus, fresh milk from a farm close to us...fresh eggs from the farm behind us...calves belonging to another farmer that "mow" the grass in our pasture, etc. Lots of the benefits of farming, without all the hard work! :)
