A Wasted Day...

~ 8 days old, and life is good
A wasted day is one in which I did not...

~ stroke Tobin's soft, soft hair...and smell repeatedly his sweet baby scent

~ take advantage of David's new ability to give kisses to have him kiss my cheek

~ pause to really listen to Josiah and have an in-depth conversation with him about something

~ cuddle with Jeff, now that the (wonderful, extremely helpful) beast of a maternity pillow is not in our bed any longer

Fortunately, today was NOT a wasted day. I think I can put a check mark by all the items on the above list--the most important to-do list I have. :)

You look so well and very happy. Now where did that enormous tummy go?

Please tell me that you photo-shopped these pictures. Never have I seen someone, 1 week after having a baby, look so good. The smile, the eyes, the 'I didn't just grow a baby in there' belly. Beautiful pictures. Beautiful Mama. Beautiful Baby. :)

Precious... got caught up on the blog this morning. It was encouraging to read the rest of your bitrhing story and see God's provision for you! What a blessing! Thanks for being transparent... the ups and downs of the post-partum are very real. Good to know they are all NORMAL and you will get back to YOUR normal soon... love those boys. off to do the same...
love,
Sharon

Davene-- You are SO right!! Those are the very things your days are for right now! (And you didn't even list that all-important job you are completing each day of nourishing that little one with milk! --- and I imagine you fed your older guys, too!) What right priorities you have!! May God continue to help all of you adjust and settle into a NEW routine ;-)
Love, Valerie

Sweet. It's nice to see your beautiful smile and adoring eyes looking down at Tobin. Glad you aren't wasting these precious post-partum days that are all too fleeting, yet have moments withing them that feel all too long. Still haven't figured out quite how that works.

Cherish those moments. Reading about the little baby head and seeing these photos makes my uterus ache! haha! It makes me want a third!!!

You look like you're glowing...simply beautiful.

Davene,
You look great, I would have never known that you had just had a baby. Hope better days outweigh the bad. We will continue to keep you guys in our prayers.
