~ the view when I got out of bed this morning (much later than Jeff!)
~ the vibrancy of colors in this photograph is appealing to me...the fresh green-gold of the new leaves on the maple tree, the contrast between the white snow and the deep emerald green grass in the pasture, the clear blue sky, etc.
For a few days, we'd been hearing that a cold front was heading our way, and that we might get snow on Saturday. When we first heard the report, it was a little difficult to believe, based on how warm and gorgeous our weather has been recently...but sure enough, the prediction was accurate; and we awoke this morning to a beautiful, thin layer of snow! Fortunately, it didn't accumulate on the driveway so I didn't have to do any shoveling; this was just a snow for enjoying the beauty, taking a few pictures, and watching it melt away--perfect for this time of year when you don't really want to bundle your kids up in their snowsuits, build a snowman, or pull a sled up the hill. The snow did have the effect of canceling Josiah's second week of soccer, so he was a bit disappointed. A mid-day trip to the barbershop to see Jeff and to Chick-fil-A for lunch and some time in their indoor playground made it all better though!
